Koss was one of the most underrated Guitar player.
That´s a great solo but Moonshine was the greatest.

@christfersmart1 Dont be a idiot. There is more skill in one of Andy frasers fingers than you will ever have. He lead the way for bassist to come into the limelight and add something to there music

I was very fortunate to have seen the original band back in 1970! In the unlikely venue that was the Eldorado Wrestling hall in Leith Edinburgh. They still are the biz a fabulous band in all respects

Free at The Lyceum London @1971 , packed out, a real band that worked something out together, but all individuals. This is rock at its very best.

What a fantastic comment Kryszczynski unfortunately I wasn't around in 69 but yeah I can certainly picture what you are saying. Nice one man! Hope you get to read this.

@christfersmart1 aint no evil in this bass solo, he solos while the song continues with Koss's strong guitar and killer tone, F N brilliant! you cant match this, kirke is a rock solid drummer who didnt solo much but he knew when and how to bring it on. Find another song as well done and blended with a bass solo as this, virtually impossible.

Free were real troupers. Once, they opened for headliners Bonzo Dog Band and Family & brought the house down. Then management announced that Family’s violinist had mislaid his instrument somewhere & they didn’t fancy playing without it. Bit of a stand-off for a while. Then Free offered to do a second set to fill the gap. That kicked Chappo & Co’s butts right where it was needed! Somehow they found the bottle to get out there after all and perform (not too badly, as it turned out).

@zdwaffles - er, if you read my comment you can see that I both love Free and know about music. I also don't know who Justin Bieber is, I imagine I'm too old.
Granted, this is probably the best bass solo I've heard. But that's mainly because the other three musicians are still going over the top of it. Have you ever watched a bass player play a solo on his own? It's pretty much the most tragic thing you could ever hope to see. |
